Houston Loses to Colorado College 1-0 at Stewart Field

HOUSTON - The University of Houston women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Conference USA leader Colorado College at Stewart Field Sunday.

“We worked hard tonight,” senior forward Jessica Zavalza said. “Overall we played good as a team, we just have to continue to get better.”

Houston held Colorado College scoreless in the first half as goalkeeper Cami Koski recorded two saves, facing eight Tiger shot attempts.

In the second half, Lauren Digregorio scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers in the 47th minute following an assist by Kaeli Vandersluis.

Sydney George relieved Koski in the second half, recording seven saves as she faced 17 shots on the day, allowing just one goal.

Houston was unable to generate quality scoring opportunities, as they were limited to eight shot attempts on the evening, while facing 25.

Houston will return home to face Southern Miss at 7 p.m., Friday at Robertson Stadium.
